Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 27, 2026
At CodeNotes, we build utilities with a privacy-first, local-only architecture. Your trust is our priority, and we believe that your notes and private snippets should remain completely private to you. This Privacy Policy details how the application handles data.
1. Information Collection and Storage
CodeNotes does not collect, monitor, store, or share any personal data, text inputs, code snippets, or configuration settings. All notes you write and any preferences you set (such as background transparency levels, stealth mode status, and recently opened file paths) are stored exclusively on your local machine using standard macOS sandbox storage mechanics.
2. Network and Cloud Connectivity
The application has zero networking capabilities. It is designed to work completely offline, makes no network connections, contains no analytics SDKs, and has no server backend. Your data never leaves your computer.
3. Third-Party Libraries and Tools
CodeNotes is built entirely using native Apple developer frameworks (SwiftUI, AppKit, WebKit). It has no third-party dependencies, trackers, or libraries that could access your workspace data or transmit metrics.
4. App Sandbox Protection
The application operates under a secure Apple Sandbox environment. It only accesses files and directories that you explicitly select using native macOS file dialog controls (e.g., when importing or saving a markdown document).
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted directly to this page. By continuing to use the application, you agree to the practices outlined in the updated policy.
6. Contact
If you have any questions or feedback regarding the privacy of this utility, please contact the developer via the repository page.
